Our experienced flight medical crew consists of highly-trained, dedicated medical professionals, physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, respiratory therapists, and paramedics. Each crew member has received specialized training in flight physiology to deal with the challenges of transporting a patient by air. In addition to their superior medical skills, our team members are respectful and caring.
Air Medical Charters has a fully dedicated Learjet 55-ER air ambulance. The jet is configured with state-of-the-art systems, allowing ICU-level services with first-class comfort. The jet's modern avionics and extended-range capabilities offer swift and safe transportation to the patient, one family member and our highly qualified flight medical team. The jet's pressurized cabin is large enough for passengers to stand and stretch, and even offers a private lavatory for comfort.
Two of Air Medical Charters' seasoned pilots will be on each flight. These pilots have extensive training and are solely dedicated to our aircraft.
Air Medical Charters' air ambulance is specifically outfitted for safety and comfort. It is important to us that the patient have everything needed, including, whenever possible, the comfort of family. One family member may accompany the patient, except when the medical director or crew withdraws permission for safety reasons. There is no additional cost to the family member.
Due to weight and storage limitations, the passenger's luggage is limited to two carry-on sized bags. The family member will provide to Air Medical Charters his/her full name, relation to the patient, date of birth, and nationality. In instances of international travel, Air Medical Charters requires a valid passport and applicable visa or other travel permission.
We will provide the highest level of care to our patients not only during transport, but also once the patient and family arrive at the destination. We can make arrangements for the patient to be admitted to a state-of-the-art hospital and arrange for an experienced and knowledgeable physician to take over the care of the patient at the new facility. The transition will be smooth due to professional and accurate communication and preparation. In conjunction with the hospital support services, our staff can even assist the family member with finding a place to stay.
Air Medical Charters is covered by liability insurance and accepts insurance (subject to pre-authorization) as well as private payers.
